GW Return Policy

This means it has to be shrink wrapped in the box (?) and accompanied by a receipt-note that some FW items are simply in a resealable plastic bag.
As previously mentioned I bought a damaged (internally) Tau Sniper Drone Team. I now wanted a refund, I did not want the Drone Sniper any longer, I did not want it on a plane, I did not want it on a train. No dice said GW Overweight Gamer Store Employee, I had opened the package, broken the shrink wrap. I could wait while they ordered in a replacement piece. They would not swap the box with one on the shelf.
Irritated, I pointed out that the item in question was damaged goods before it was sold to me. I pointed out the miscast area on the metal sprue. I also started to become slightly pissed off as I pointed this out to Drone One. He summoned Senior Drone so I could repeat the entire story in some detail. At this point I became a bit more aggravated, pointing out that I could not have known the mini in question was sold to me in damaged condition and only opening the box could have revealed that. I then said, “I insist that you refund my money”. For some reason that was the magic phrase. Drone team return accepted by GW BB with poor grace. Note that I did have the receipt in hand, which must have been the final blow. After refunding (or un debiting my charge card) everyone was all apologetic about the situation. Too late though, weirdness had happened and I was feeling hassled. Retail should not be like this. If Radio Shack had sold me a Framistan and it was missing the Blatchenhaven, I could simply return it with no big deals. Crutchfield seems to consistently ping the top levels of my High Service Category, as does BMW. The comparison to BMW may not seem fair here, but in miniatures land, FW and GW prices are right up in those price regimes. This experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
Unless I have to buy a Forge World item and I am desperate, I may not be buying anything there again. This two out of three times I have gotten weird service there. The exception was one of the employees there (I forget his name except he was thin) let Chort and I take pictures of a Thunderhawk Forge World model last year. That was cool of him. Mail order requires more time, but generally it is cheaper than the gas to get there and back, and discounts are not hard to find on the internet, not even including ebay auctions. I put an order together with Jeff and Chort after we got back to my place. One hundred and seventy dollars of merchandise that did NOT go through the BB.
